"The global work of the United Nations is not without reason compared to that of a family-striving for a common goal in concert with all members for a better future"

-Kofi Annan

With immense pleasure,I take the responsibility to present the second edition of AXIS Model United Nations . It aims to provide a platform to young aspiring minds to manifest their ideas ,document their cogent arguments and substantiate them with facts. In a world with conflicts to be resolved, resources to be reached, problems to be addressed, voices to be heard and hands to be held, awareness to international issues has become our moral duty. MUN,being a simulation of the United Nations conference, serves as a platform for the delegates to develop and prove their oratory skills as well as comprehend the depth and nature of crucial international issues. I would like to invite all the enthusiastic minds to experience how the powers of a delegate and the responsibility of a state can create an impact at the highest levels of international authority.

“The ultimate renewable energy is the human ingenuity”

– Irina Bokova.

Every Model United Nations Conference aims to develop interpersonal skills and strives to broaden the horizons and holistically develop the delegates, instilling values of confidence and concern in them. Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other and MUN presents a platform for the delegates to learn and nurture skills and values of diplomacy to emerge as future leaders. In an environment where the lines between the real and the fake are rapidly getting blurred, we hope to have a conference which taps into ingenuity of its delegates and sensitizes them to different perspectives, looking at Global, National and local issues through a kaleidoscope of possibilities and encouraging an environment of deliberation before debate and understanding before assumption. Hence, it gives me immense Pleasure and honour to welcome you all to the second edition of AXIS MUN 2020.

He has served as the Director General of Nagpur MUN 2018 and has special interest in debates, diplomacy and international affairs. An immensely seasoned MUNer, he believes that the flavour of debate lies leagues beyond the competitive spirit that often characterises it. He strongly believes that knowledge speaks for itself, and one would rarely hear him in an assertive, loud tone. His composed manner would be paramount for every delegate in his committee to gain an unequivocal grasp on the agenda, stimulating substantive and enriching debate. He wants to give back what he got from MUNs to delegates coming to his committee and aspires to train young minds rightfully by accepting them as they are.

Chair
Dewang Vaidya , 4th year law student of B.A.LL.B course at Nagpur University. I have keen interest in studying socio political events around the world. I also like to indulge in extensive formal debates and discussions concerning government policies and their impacts. MUNs provided me perfect platform for such indulgence and hence I since have participated in many MUNs in Central Indian circuit and Pune circuit . I feel the most important thing when having discussion is to have proper facts and articulating one's argument around them. Research is the difference between having accurate facts and strong arguments and making ignorant and vague arguments.
